Outreach
Research Experience for Undergraduate Students: KUEST Bridge
- The KUEST Bridge program is a four-week residential engineering acclimation program
- This program provides research experience opportunities for incoming engineering freshmen.
Jayhawk Wireless Summer Camp for 9-12 High School Students
In this summer camp, students learn about the following topics:
- The basics of signal processing
- The basics of wireless communication, transmitter, and receiver architecture
- MATLAB, Python, and other software tools for signal processing, wireless communications, and electrical engineering in general.
- Software defined radios (SDR) and their applications
- The camp includes two hands-on lab: (1) programming SDRs to capture FM radio signals, and (2) wireless image transfer over the air using SDR.
STEM Education for K-9 students: TryEngineering Together
- TryEngineering Together program is powered by the IEEE.
- Faculty e-mentors K-9 students through several engineering units.
- In this program, e-mentor and students read Focus Articles related to engineering and STEM fields and share their thoughts.
- This program increases the exposure of K-12 students from a diverse set of backgrounds and under-represented groups to the engineering and STEM fields.
